The Missouri Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Conference is taking place June 11-13 at the Branson Convention Center and you have a chance to attend for FREE!!!  This event is a wonderful opportunity to gain some practical skills by attending Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses in various areas, to network with practitioners and judges from all over the State of Missouri.

The conference is offering courses in Bankruptcy, Tax, Ethics, Litigation, Guardian ad Litem, Environmental and Real Estate, IP and Business, Family Law, Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Appellate Practice.  Probate and a Bootcamp in starting a law practice.  To see a full schedule of events and CLE courses, please visit here.

Mizzou Law students are invited to attend this conference through a sponsorship program created with alumni and other attorney donations. The student sponsorship program will cover the cost of lodging, conference registration ( which includes meals at the conference), and course materials.  Students will be responsible for securing travel to and from the conference.  Further, if you choose to register for the golf tournament, the registration fees and expenses are on your own.  Two students of the same sex will be assigned to each double occupancy room.  Students are responsible for all incidental purchases outside of the included meals and events, including any purchases charged to their room.

Any student in the first, second or third year of law school during the 2014-2015 academic school year may apply to the sponsorship program, however, students may only participate in the program once during their tenure at the law school.  To receive a sponsorship, the student must be in good academic and financial standing with the University.

If you are interested in applying, please pick up an application packet from Jennifer Riedy in Room 103, or email her at, requesting an application packet.  Be sure and submit your application packet to Room 103 no later than 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015.

I hope you will consider attending this wonderful conference… which happens to be one of my favorite events!  If you have questions, do not hesitate to stop by.
